  Every space, no matter how temporary, is a canvas to create a sense of belonging.  My name is Branden Leay Villalona. I’m an Urban Designer by education and a place maker by experience, having spent the last 20 years transforming spaces that inspire, provoke, and connect.  I design with an instinctual, primal approach that is deeply rooted in collaboration and intuition. My work leans into the tension between the familiar and the unexpected, balancing bold concepts, unconventional materials, and creative problem-solving to create curiosity and invite exploration.

I thrive in the unexpected. Whether it’s curating a package of thrifted treasures, designing around a historical architectural feature, or introducing an idea that shifts the way a space is perceived, my goal is to make every design deeply personal, emotionally resonant, and impossible to ignore.

I reject the notion that functionality must come at the expense of artistry. Design philosophy is more than a set of principles—it’s the unseen thread that weaves together function, artistry, and emotion, shaping how a space feels as much as how it looks. It’s what turns an empty room into a sanctuary, a workspace into a source of energy, a home into a reflection of identity. For my clients, it means walking into a space that doesn’t just meet their needs but resonates with them—calming the chaos, sparking inspiration, and making them feel deeply at home. My design philosophy is rooted in the belief that thoughtful design is an interplay of spatial balance, materiality, and visual rhythm—it should feel effortless yet intentional. Every composition is a curated mix of textures, tonal contrasts, and layered elements that invite comfort and discovery. I design with a deep awareness of how scale, proportion, and negative space can create dynamic visual interest, subtly easing the busy mind.

 Whether we are planning a complete renovation, branding a rental property, or staging for a sale, the process begins with a thorough walk-through to intuitively understand the flow of the space and immediately visualize solutions. This first step allows us to assess the architecture, identify opportunities, and develop a design direction that aligns with both aesthetics and function.

Once the vision is established, we move into the collaborative design phase, where concepts are refined through mood boards, material selections, and spatial planning to ensure every detail reflects your goals. The cost structure is customized based on project scope, with transparent pricing and tiered options to fit different levels of investment.

From there, I manage the entire process—from sourcing materials and furnishings to coordinating with contractors and trades, ensuring quality execution at every stage. I oversee installation, styling, and final delivery, making sure the space is not only completed but feels effortless, cohesive, and entirely yours.
